1. And why wasn't Hitler stopped sooner??? TRUTH........!!!!!!!
For the love of ,   MONEY   (01.13.14)
Because too many Americans, including JEWISH Americans were making too much money to stop it or rock the boat. As ALWAYS, we have no one to blame but OURSELVES.
2. Franz Josef Mueller, You are wrong
ky   (01.13.14)
. Despite you being a hero who stood up to Nazism there are many , many young people today who do not believe the horrors that the Nazis committed. This guillotine is not for cutting paper and it must be shown as proof.
3. entertainment or education
Larry ,   LA (formerly)   (01.13.14)
agreed entertainment should not be made with such a killing device, but education should not be denied about such a government that employed such a device. The next generation should be educated to appreciate the lowness a society can sink to when it is lead by scoundrels like Hitler so that they may realize in their generation it could happen again and then stop it from happening.

You have the correct idea, "Never Forget". Maybe we should include some modern reminders too, like some homicide bomb vests, IEDs filled with shrapnel to be exploded in crowded areas and some arab missiles that were targeted at civilians.

If I had to choose to die slowly killed by cold and starvation like those in Soviet gulags, holodomor or from the wounds inflicted by phosphorus bomb I would pick the guillotine ,...

Citizen Rospierre   (01.13.14)
Was unaware that any state other than France employed such a device. Reminds of reading years ago that the French Republic constructed a no. of "mini-guillotines" to be dragged around to the towns & regions of France for Royalists during the first few years after the Revolution.

I think you mean "Robespierre." Austria, Denmark and Sweden, too. Not to mention former French colonies. Last used in Germany, interestingly enough, in 1949. Last used in France in 1976.

A fine example of German precision. BTW why wasen't it used the Nuremburg trials . . . or was that too good for them !!
9. Islamic ruled states today, are the only ones..

.. to use beheading. Agreat example is Saudi Arabia, Syria and Iran. Under the popular law of sharia, the governments are keeping up the terror-pressure on their populations. It is also used frequently by islamic-cult-groups when they want to terrorize OUTside where the normal area of horror is excecuted.

Far too good; far too quick. The British actually offered the services of Albert Pierrepoint, executioner extraordinaire, but the Americans declined in favor of a sergeant who didn't know what he was doing. Also, the British used the long drop method which, if properly done, causes instantaneous unconsciousness, with death shortly thereafter. The Americans used the short drop method, which basically leaves the victim strangling slowly at the end of a rope. The hangings of the top Nazis at Nuremberg were botched, incompetent affairs. Does my heart good to know they suffered.
