Do you know that Britain is selling 12 billion $ worth of weapons to Israel?

"promised land theory?" I thought you profess to be a Christian. Do you not read your Bible or are you like most Christians and only believe the back portion which is incorrectly labeled "new testament?" If you can't find the Promised Land in Scripture then you are not worthy to be listened to. In the future I will call you "Harold Theory>"

In my opinion, Lieberman always was and is a little misunderstood... Nevertheless, I find the remark of this famously known patriotic conservative of Israel, to have a sharp mind, bold rhetoric & superb knowledge of factual truths... No one of an informed & analytical mind and with knowledge of Israel's history, the facts about Israeli/Palestinian conflict, wouldn't be able to agree to Lieberman's unsubstantiated optimism about any agreement with terrorists & their groups like chamas , hisbollah, fattah & abbas... Asprobably many others, I am very surprised about the change in Lieberman's "venue" or shell we call it "principal" ? Lets see what is going to happen....

That seems to be the only plausible reason. A seasoned leader does not flip overnight from Right to Left and vice versa.

Granted, at first I was surprised by Lieberman's speech. My explanation is; grovel a bit & kiss & make up! Many of our Government Ministers accused Kerry of not supporting Israel. The US Administration shot back at Israel with venom! Lieberman is kissing & making up with the US. That's my opinion.
37. Lierberman's ideas about a land swap
Michael Redbourn ,   Lisbon Portugal   (02.08.14)
The swap would see Israel cede sovereignty over 10 towns, home to 300,000 Israeli-Arabs, along the Green Line, in an area called the Triangle, to the Palestinian Authority in exchange for a similar amount of land developed by Jewish settlers. In 2000, when the Triangle proposal was first put forward by current Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, a survey conducted by Israeli-Arab weekly Kul al-Arab among 1,000 residents of Umm al-Fahm, found that 83 percent opposed transferring their city to Palestinian Authority rule. But those same people object to Jewish Israelis coming into 'their' towns. They want to have their cake and to eat it too! Lieberman came under a lot of flak for shooting from the hip. He's FM and is smoothing US feathers.

I do agree.. And as I re-read the last paragraph of his speech with a clearer head, I could see his point and even re-read with appreciation the last paragraph... Thank You, my friend Birdi... SHAVUA TOV !

These are very interesting times in Israel. As we read the news, we need to have a clear head, all the time! Shavua Tov to you, dear Jennie.
40. Lieberman Speech
Michail Kalman ,   Haifa   (02.09.14)
Extremely important speech but the headline is not descriptive of the important elements which accurately bemoan the weakness of the separation of powers, i.e. the systemic weakness of the PM to control the cabinet and the intercourse with foreign powers, friends and foe. It is important to redress the system before its too late: 1. PM to be elected by popular vote. 2. Empower the PM to choose his own cabinet perhaps with advise and consent by relevant Knneset committees. 3. No confidence votes in the Knneset to require supra-majority to be valid. 4. To change fundamental rules such as the above, again a supra-majority vote to be needed.
