31. A place to start
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.18.14)
Terminate the employment of every Arab working in settlement industries. Follow that by revoking the work permits of all West Bank Arabs who work inside the State of Israel proper. Let's see how Abbas handles seventy percent unemployment. Following that, demand immediate payment of the huge debt owed by the "Palestine" Authority for Israeli electricity. They have twenty-four hours to pay. If they don't pay; turn out the lights in all areas controlled by the "Palestine" Authority. BDS, indeed. Two can play this game.
32. To: No. 1
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.18.14)
Israel lost Judea and Samaria in the War of Independence. We warned Jordan not to get involved in the Six Day War. They did, anyway. They lost. Lost land, too. That's a natural outcome of war. One does not reward aggressors. That said -- give us your family name. I'll arrange the rest with the Misrad Ha'Pnim. You'll be back in Italy in no time at all. You can take your Arab boy-toy with you. Start packing, sluggo.
33. And those who boycotted South Africa were what?
(02.18.14)
Too bad that South Africa is not a Jewish state. How will Netanyahoo's theory explain that?
34. #30 Actually
Ivor Evenbiggergun   (02.18.14)
with Al Qaeda attacking Hezbollah in Lebanon technically Al Qaeda are actually fighting on the same side as Israel
35. #30
Dan   (02.18.14)
I said nothing about leaving the West Bank. This is where Sharon and Bibi have confused people like you. The settlers and the military occupation are 2 different things, the former unjustified, the latter justified. The settlements tell the world we want nothing but land, thus delegitimising Israel, and giving the Arabs a pretext for continued violence. Remove the settlements, depriving them of an excuse, and end the occupation only when we get a credible peace deal. Get it?
36. To: No. 27
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.18.14)
That's a great deal like saying "I'm not an anti-Semite; I'm anti-Zionist." No difference. No matter how you couch it, you're an anti-Semite. A hypocritical one, I might add, unless and until you toss out your computer and your mobile phone.
37. Boycott - Natanyahu is wrong on both counts
Stan ,   Israel   (02.18.14)
Bibi said in his speech that the occupation and the settlements are not the reason that the Palestinians refuse to make peace, "it's only because they refuse to recognize Israel as a Jewish State" Not true! The conflict with the Arabs has been going on for almost a century. The demand that the Palestinians recognize Israel as a Jewish State began less than a decade ago! Bibi claims that the boycotters are ant-Semites. South Africa was boycotted by the same people for the same reasons that Israel is. Racial and ethnic discrimination. It took SA's friends Britain and USA almost 30 years to join the boycott, the result? The fall of the White regime in that country. The vast majority of anti-Semites in Europe and USA are Muslims, and as they are not yet able to influence decisions made in these countries, it is clear that the BDS movement is not anti-Semitic
38. Not only are bdsholes anti-Semitic
Shoshana Rubin   (02.18.14)
They are allowing themselves to be Nazis. They're not interested in truth, facts, logic and morals. They don't care what is right and wrong.....they just want to hurt Jews, period, including American Jews. Therefore, they are simply old-fashioned Hitler-type Nazis.
39. I blame the liberal left in israel.
Iris Harris ,   USA   (02.18.14)
The left in israel started it, they gave this brilliant ideas to the Arabs and the rest of the AntiSemites of the world. Netanyahu has to clean his own government and get rid of all those evil doers who try to bring Israel down with every such ideas. Whoever thinks that he can sanction only the settlements without sanctioning the whole state of Israel is delliusional. There is no such a thing as going against the settlements and not the people of Israel. And yes they are AntiSemites. There are plenty of them in Israel too. They work together with the Arabs against their own country.
40. Calling Someone An Anti-Semite Is The Last Refuge Of A .....
World Citizen ,   the world   (02.18.14)
Jewish Scoundrel And if ever there was one it is Bibi Netanyahu. Doing his best to round up some dollars from rich Jewish-American donors. His claim that the boycott is based on antisemitism is either a cynical ploy or the man is suffering from clinical paranoia. Somehow the Israeli people must come to their senses and run this man out of office. He is the biggest danger to Israel right now.
41. to #3 Jack Shuman
Nachman   (02.18.14)
I don't know whether you are Jewish but you certainly know very little about the Jewish past and history. The west Bank Jerusalem and chebron recorded in the Bible and every historian know that is where the Jewish people lived during the first and second temp*les before Mohamed was born. Secondly returning to the 67 borders aba Eban called those the aushwitz Borders. If you don't understand the above you are just as an anti-Semite with the name Shuman that would like to see \/Israel and Jews disappear
42. antisemitism not the issue
Ilana   (02.18.14)
Whether or not the boycotters are anti-Semitic is irrelevant in my view. If they are genuinely interested in peace they should know 2 things: (1) The BDS movement is perceived as anti-Semitic by many Israelis and thus tends to harden not soften attitudes; (2) the Palestinians perceive it as encouragement to delay making peace in the hopes of a better deal.
43. # 15
(02.18.14)
Congrats very well said keep it up Ruth
44. Bibi is correct. But we as a people need to make war on arro
Adi ,   Zurich   (02.18.14)
Bibi is correct. But we as a people need to make war on arrogance. Especially our own.
45. Bibi's paranoia
Big Al ,   Zichron, Israel   (02.18.14)
is becoming a national embarrassment
46. Mr Serious is at it again
gp ,   Tel Aviv   (02.18.14)
Netanyahu: words, words, words. Yawn. Pity action never follows.
47. weird
sharpshin ,   USA   (02.18.14)
No one is boycotting "the Jews." No one is boycotting Israel and the 40% of Jews who live there. The target of the boycotts is the Israeli government's continual expansion of settlements on land to which it does not hold sovereignty (according to the Israeli High Court, as well as the world) and its oppressive control of 2.4 million people by military means. If someone doesn't want to do business with you, you can't make them. Pretty simple. Can't see how it makes them "anti-Semitic."
48. Watch For A Backlash
Dan ,   USA   (02.18.14)
The word racist has been used so many times in America that it has not only lost it's meaning but often stirs a backlash when used. This can very easily happen to the use of the word anti -semitism. Don't let is lose it's power. In any case action speaks louder than words. Unfortunately Bibi is full of words and little action.
49. Palestinians have it tough. But boycott?
rejectYourLeaders   (02.18.14)
It will not change the life of the people. The Fatah and Hamas propaganda industry serves the leaders who oppress the nation.
50. It no longer means anything to be
john robey ,   austin texas   (02.18.14)
called an anti-Semite. If you disagree with anything Israel does you must be an anti-Semite. It used to mean something... but not now when everyone is labeled as such for what used to be reserved for Nazis and other extremists. Israel has squandered the power that this charge once had.
51. @7
israeli ,   israel   (02.18.14)
What government was the world sick of when they boycotted the Jews on the eve of WWII? When will this sick world give up the idea that they have the right to tell Jews, and only Jews, where they can live or not? And does anyone realize that the boycott mostly hurts the Palestinians employed in those West Bank industries? And yes, No. 1, you are a proud anti-Semite, thinking you can still herd us into ghettos, as you did in Rome and Venice, only this time you want to define the borders of our country, which have already been defined by several peace agreements which you conveniently ignore.
52. #7, you are as stupid as your Californian namesake
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (02.18.14)
Regardless of intent boycotts hurt real people and your whitewashing doesn't change that.
53. Netanyahu is correct. I am the perfect Antisemite example.
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (02.18.14)
54. #20 What!?? Delusional
Shlomo   (02.18.14)
Iran is NOT agreeing or complying with ANYTHING - are you THAT stupid?
55. #36 Prehaps you didn't read my post
Ivor Evenbiggergun   (02.18.14)
I said I wasn't boycotting Israel. I am boycotting the settlements. What part of that don't you understand? My computer has an Intel Chip in it, my mobile phone however was made in Taiwan with an Arm chip in it which is British.
56. #37 Stan of Israel
Ivor Evenbiggergun   (02.18.14)
Actually the Apartheid regime collapsed because companies started boycotting companies who traded in South Africa because they were scared of losing market share. This led to companies like Ford Motors withdrawing from South Africa. Once that happened the jig was up. Although one can argue that the fall of the iron curtain and the consequent decline in South Africa's strategic importance was also a factor.
57. The "antisemitic" card is worthless
spyguy ,   seattle usa   (02.18.14)
Israelis have so over-used the "antisemitic" term it is now worthless. The term should have been used sparingly to describe the very small number of humans that actually irrationally hate Jewish people, but instead Israelis have used it constantly to try to shut down any criticism. While the term may have worked for those that felt guilt over WW2, the reality is 80% of the people on earth were born after 1945 and have no guilt about WW2 and the term to them is just some meaningless thing Israelis throw out all the time. They really do not care what you call them and they will just ignore what you say. Trying to slur people that disagree with Israel will accomplish NOTHING. Either provide a rational defense for your actions that others will accept or change your actions. The bottom line is Israel has no defense against BDS.
58. Nothing stinks more than smug Diaspora Jews
Arnold-Canada ,   Montreal   (02.18.14)
Especially you so called Jews in America. Too bad there was no UN call for a BDS when the Pilgrims arrived and raped and pillaged from the east coast to the west coast and then gave Mexico a taste as well. You make me sick.
59. to 1
igor ,   Toronto canada   (02.18.14)
you are antisemitic creature. no doubt hate blinded Nazi leftover.
60. #46 gp
Sarah B ,   Tel Aviv/London   (02.18.14)
That is because what Netanyahu tells the Israeli people and what is the actual reality are two different things.
