The difference being that the United States has designated Hamas a terrorist organization, Hamas is now a part of the "Palestine" Authority and that makes the "Palestine" Authority a terrorist organization. There are, I believe, six laws which prohibit funding terrorist organizations in any way, shape or form, and there are quite a few people who are presently guests of the United States Prison Service as a result of having flouted those laws. By the way, sluggo, Israel talks with Saudis. I daresay at this point in time, Israel has better relations with Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Fujeira than does the United States. Nations do not have friends, but nations do have interests and, given the real and present danger that Iran poses to the Kingdom and the Gulf States, the old Arab adage prevails: the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Fact is, the entire Gulf has had a front-row seat to the mess that the inept American administration has created. The contempt in which Obama is held staggers the mind.
32. #3 you are wrong
(06.03.14)
Obama is permitted to ignore the laws and Constitution. What do you call Fast and Furious, immigration scandal, NSA scandal, IRS scandal, illegal appointment scandal and of course Benghazi? At least those were hidden from view. What the Bergdahl deal showed is that Obama knows he can break any law, publicly and with impunity, and no one will stop him.
33. There's a rather simple solution
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.03.14)
Annexation of nonsovereign Judea and Samaria. Start with the settlement blocs and the immediate surrounding areas. Deport the Arab population to Gaza. See if that doesn't take the United States by surprise. Obama is determined to write his way into the history books as something other than the worst president in United States history, and he's trying to do it at Israel's expense. So, counter fire with fire. We've been accommodating enough. It's time to set things right -- the Palestinians are a vanquished people. Won't be the first massive population transfer in history; probably won't be the last. If you want to be treated like a sovereign state, you first have to act like one, and assert all the rights available to the victor of a defensive war -- both territorial and with respect to hostile populations. Upon annexation, the Arabs in the affected areas will instantly become undesirable aliens. Thanks to the newly-minted unity pact with Hamas, Gaza is a suitable point for relocation. Send the "Palestinians" to Gaza. It is time that they learned that they are vanquished. Will they resort to terror? Of course. It is, after all, what they do. It is the only thing they have "contributed" to civilization. Israel will meet that terror with a crushing response. Obama will just have to content himself with being relegated to a historical footnote.

Direct phone communication just set between Putin and Bibi is the only significant news .
35. Talking vs Paying
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (06.03.14)
The US is willing to talk to the PA so far. Israel so far is still collecting and remitting taxes to the PA. Sheer Hypocrisy from Israeli politicians. They are paying Hamas.
36. Failure of intelligence
Piotr Berman ,   State College   (06.03.14)
and common sense. The government of Israel develop "clever tricks" how to blame Palestinians again and again for everything short of lack of rain, and now they are surprised that it does not work as well as in the past. American Administration was relatively clear that they see Israeli fault in the failure of peace talk. Consequences will be showing up.
37. revenge
Toledano Jean-Pierre ,   Israel   (06.03.14)
I personally think and it's my conviction that Obama and his entourage really took revenge on Israel because of our opposition to the Fatah-Hamas unity government. Like always he took about foreign policy and especially in the Middle East the wrong decision. He, backed by Kerry,... has now a reason to show his didain towards Israel and I'm also sure towards Jewry. I'm again believing that he's a Christian following his pastor, who is anti-Semitic, and that only because he wanted to become President of the USA, he took distance of that man. Also Farakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam, was one of his advisors. For me, I know enough. He is in his heart a rabiat opponent of Israel, Zionism and I think also an anti-...te .

Gaza and Ramallah cannot be another North Korea and South Korea. Some like you and your followers are against unity so that the ME conflict remains unsolved The US and especially the EU know what they are doing to solve this 47 years old stubborn conflict..
39. What's to be surprised about "Hussein" Obama...
jack Cohen ,   San Diego   (06.03.14)
...the Moslem so called "president" with the mentality of an African dictator? He has and will continue to demonstrate his contempt for America and his hatred for Israel.

Are you serious? Are you really playing the birth certificate card lol. Is that all you got? I don't agree with the decision to recognize the new "unity" government, however, where was Israel when we needed it in regards to the Crimean crisis? Israel has it's own interest and so do we. Some times we have to agree to disagree and move on. So with that said please move on. Obama is no fan of Israel and Bibi is no fan of America unless it's writing a check because whether you like it or not he is still the elected POTUS.

Nixon, too, thought he was above the law. I think the country has about had it with Obama. Congress is about to yank his chain. No more political correctness. The emperor has no clothes, and everybody knows it.
42. Why is anyone surprised?
Koose E mack ,   NY USA   (06.03.14)
The current administration has had the worst foreign policy in American History! Why should they break a streak?
43. #3...He does in fact do just that!!!
Koose E Mack ,   US Caliphate   (06.03.14)
Call us Tea Party Conservative, call us the Far Right, call us supporters of US Constitutional Law....We have been saying for 8 years that Obama has done exactly what you claim he can't do," run roughshod over the Constitution." This presidency has violated US Constitutional Law more than any recent administration and laughed about it!

Sarah when are going to learn the real truth. Have you ever read articles about the US and Arafat meetings in the United States. Arafat had more Israeli blood on his hands than Hamas which was created by Israel according to ex Republican Congressman Ron Paul. Wake-up

Yes. I remember when Andrew Young met supposedly secretly with Arafat -- may his name be cursed throughout eternity -- in Kuwait, or possibly Lebanon, at Carter's behest, in 1979. I also remember the public outcry when Israel revealed that the meeting had taken place -- replete with photographs and tape recordings -- which was contrary to United States law. Andrew Young was forced to resign as the United Nations ambassador, and Carter's dream of being elected to a second term effectively died. Hmm -- what do you know! Israel has to keep tabs on its supposed ally to keep that ally from reneging on its promises, not to mention violating United States law. Say, Harold, I'm still waiting for you to tell me all about the United States airlift of Jews to Israel in 1948 of which you claim to have first-hand knowledge. What's the matter? Cat got your tongue? Or have you simply run out of lies to tell?

Dumbo, North Korea and South Korea are contiguous. Gaza and the West Bank are not. The proper point of reference would be East Pakistan and West Pakistan. That said, it's not a problem. Judea and Samaria will be annexed. Thanks to the brand new unity government triumphantly announced by the "Palestine" Authority and Hamas, Israel will not even need to repatriate the Arabs in Judea and Samaria to Jordan. We'll simply deport them to Gaza, where they can all live happily never after in the "Palestinian" paradise.

Israel is not a permanent member of the Security Council, and thus could not meaningfully assist the United States with respect to Putin's annexation of Crimea. Moreover, Israel's obligations to the Jewish people trump any obligations to the current United States administration. Given the Obama presidency's record on Israel, the United States is lucky that Israel hasn't recalled its ambassador and sent the U.S. ambassador to Israel packing. Elected president of the United States, eh? So ... Obama's on record as being proud of his Kenyan birth and his Moslem faith. Then, he reinvents himself and becomes a devout Christian and American born. (Is the U.S. a great country, or what?) Obviously, he is either born in Kenya and a Moslem, or born in the United States and a Christian. Was he lying then? Or is he lying now?

Does that mean we don't have to spend billions anymore or fund the Iron Dome/Arrow etc and not use our VETO. Will Israel recall the Russian, Chinese, EU, India and about 100 plus other country ambassadors as well. Will Israel walk out of the UN for supporting the move as well. When Israeli leaders bad mouth Obama and Kerry do they not expect a reaction. I am surprised that BIBI the Anti-American PM is surprised that the "messianic Kerry" as Secretary of State endorses the Palestinian government.
