Prisoners permitted to wear civilian clothes?
Ooh boy. Perhaps the Israeli Prison Service ought to visit Pelican Bay's Secure Holding Unit. Twenty-three hour lockdown, no contact with fellow prisoners, contact with lawyers permitted once every three months, no contact visit; immediate family once a month, non-contact. One hour of exercise in a steel cage. No books, magazines or reading material other than a spiritual book -- the Bible, the Qu'uran, whatever. No novels -- that's entertainment, and prison is not designed to be entertaining. No GED or college courses. No anger management programs. Nothing but a six by eight foot cell, 23 hours a day and minimal human contact.
Now THAT is how to run a prison.
