31. This Church
JaHe ,   Dallas   (06.21.14)
This Church has a theology is identical to left wing politics. That does not mean all members of the Church support this, most members do not care about it one way or the other; it is simply that the politics of the institution have been captured by the left, like so many institutions.
32. Rolling on the floor laughing at some of the responses

Reads like a spat in a Kindergarten playground
33. Israel is most magnificent in isolation.
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.21.14)
Who helped Israel win our wars for survival in 1948, 1956 and 1967? Nobody, of course. Israel did it all magnificently herself. That was before Israel liberated Judea and Samaria. There was no "occupation", but nobody helped Israel vanquish her bloodthirsty foes. Who helped Israel destroy Iraqi and Syrian nukes? Who helped Israel carry out glorious Entebbe? Nobody. Israel accomplished all her greatest feats in isolation. We can count only on ourselves. Isolation is not to be feared. When we fight; we will fight alone and win alone. That is reality. No amount of boot kissing foes and false friends will change it. Stop the boot kissing!

Why did you end your excellent comment with that pathetic last sentence? Shame on you.

36. When Presbyterian mothers come to love the Christian ...
Jane J. Goldfarb   (06.21.14)
... children of the Arab Middle East more than they hate the Jewish ones Christianity will truly go through a reformation...!! And, the thundering silence coming from the members of this Church after the decision was taken only reinforces my observation of the Church, sadly.
37. Nonprofit Status and U.S. Law
Jason, Ph.D. ,   Charlotte   (06.21.14)
Question to Sarah and/or other legal-savvy people. Does this action make them vulnerable to losing their nonprofit status? Can legal action be taken against them?

Harold ,   USA   (06.21.14)
Try not to change the subject. Chemotherapy and so forth and so forth have nothing to do with occupation and treating the Palestinians INHUMANLY. They said that they are not against Jews but they are against what Jews are doing in the occupied Palestinian Lands.
39. #38. But Sarah is correct.
BUTSeriously ,   Sydney   (06.21.14)
Why divest only what you think will satisfy your hatred. Why not divest all from Israel - including the Hebrew bible and maybe get cozy with the Quran instead. Jews have never occupied another peoples' land in all their 4,000 year history - those who robbed lands every place they trod have no right to accuse Jews of such falsehoods.
40. Interfaith meetings in Israel
Clive ,   USA   (06.21.14)
Can now take place without the US Presbyterian Church. By the way, the Methodist Church rejected BDS.
41. To: No. 38
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.21.14)
I did not change the subject. I merely suggested that if the Presbyterian Church REALLY wants to show us how they feel, they need to divest of EVERYTHING having to do with Israel. By the way, exactly what are "palestinian lands?" There was never a nation called Palestine. And the only true Palestinians are the Jewish people -- something which is borne out by Ottoman census records as well as British Mandate census records, which refer to Arabs as either "Arabs" and "Bedouins," and only to the Jewish people as Palestinian. The Arabs could have had their state in 1947, but they rejected partition in favor of going to war. They cannot now accept an offer which they rejected in 1947. That is not how the world works, Harold. For your edification, moreover, if the Presbyterian Church is against Jews in Judea and Samaria, they are also against Jews in Israel. We do not distinguish Am Israel based on where they live. Now I'm going to change the subject: when are you planning to tell us all about your "personal experience" and "first-hand knowledge" of the United States airlift of Iraqi Jews to Israel in 1948? We'd REALLY like to know, because there never was such an airlift. In fact, the United States never rescued a single Jew from an Arab or Moslem land. So we'd really love to hear all about your "personal experience" and "first-hand knowledge."

Chemotherapy has everything to do with it. You want to divest from companies doing business with Israel. Your decision,. But be honest and do a complete divestment of Israeli companies, products and services. Make sure you buy a smart phone that doesn't have a camera chip, make sure you don't use USB thumb drives, make sure you don't take most generic medicines and do a thorough research of who/where the drugs you take were invented. Make sure when you call 911 as your house burns down that you specify that the First Responders not bother to bring any radio's with Motorola technology. Make sure you use Linux and only AMD processor equipped PC's etc. Otherwise you are simply an anti-Semitic hypocrite.
43. So the Islamic slaughter of Christians is OK with them
Shoshana Rubin   (06.21.14)
Arab Christians are being slaughtered in every ME nation except Israel, so why is this so-called Christian "leadership" trying to hurt Israel? When common sense is completely lacking, as is the intention of this Christian group to hurt Israel while saying absolutely nothing about the Islamic slaughter of Christians, this kind of "thinking" is based on anti-Semitism. Who is speaking for the ME Christians? Certainly not this group nor the Vaitican which found Jewish grafitti to be worse than murder. The pope also had nothing to say about the ME Islamic slaughter of Christians. Why don't Christians care about Christians?
44. Churches should be demanding a Coptic 2-state!

45. # 27. Don't think so.
BUTSeriously ,   Sydney   (06.21.14)
The laws you attempted to flaunt only grew - even in all Christian judiciaries, the Hebrew bible became the most known scriptures, the Hebrew belief succeeded in becoming stronger and Mighty Rome died. Robbing another peoples' land & heritage, as Islam does, by flaunting the laws of the God of all Gods is hardly a justification for any belief.

You elicit much the same response when you start whining that you don't have a swimming pool. But you're pretty shallow, so we don't expect very much from you to begin with ... and you never fail to disappoint.
48. To: Jane at No. 36
(06.21.14)
I'm still trying to figure out why all these "Churches" have so little to say about the plight of Christians in the Arab world. Or about the tens of thousands of Christians being slaughtered in Banda Ace, Indonesia. Not to mention the plight of Christians in Nigeria. On those subjects, organized Christianity maintains a silence that is deafening.

Not all churches that claim to be Christian are Christian. Many are no more than social clubs.

God doesn't go back on his word. Replacement theology is a bunch of crap like your posts.

I predict this is just the beginning. People with Normal with good heart and feeling cannot accept what the occupier is doing in the Palestinian lands and to their people. Try to wise-up

Harold ,   USA   (06.21.14)
Israel used the most advanced US and West European weapons to win 1948, 1956 and 1967 wars and the intelligence help it received from the US. If you want to do it alone, in the future, stop taking US Taxpayers Welfare Checks and leave America alone.
57. #27 graczek voice of Presbyterian Church
Benji ,   US   (06.21.14)
We now see the foundation for graczek and his hateful anti-Israel posts. He's a Presbyterian. Behind this BDS effort is a belief that Jews do not deserve Israel. Jews should leave Israel because the holy land aka Israel really belongs to the Presbyterian Church. graczek has been expressing the US Presbyterian Church stance in all his vile posts. The US Presbyterian Church has now come out of the closet and embraced the terror loving Palestinians to carry out their religious and immoral crusade against Israel. This self-serving anti-Israel, anti-Jewish BDS vote is transparent and anything but righteous.
58. @41 Sarah B
Harold ,   USA   (06.21.14)
When I visited Palestine in 1938 together my mother there were just few thousands of Jews there. Real Jews were living in Arab countries and in Persia. Those Jews who came from Europe and the United States as well as from Latin America are half Jews and were called Jewish because they were raised in Jewish wombs no matter where the sperm came from. A Russian Jewish Engineer who is my friend and immigrated from Israel because he did not like the life there told me that 30 percent of the immigrants from the Soviet Union are not Jews and even were not circumcised and some were circumcised just few days before they boarded the plane to Israel. Regarding your question about US airlifted Jews to Israel, I never said that and Operation Ezra and Nehemiah is not an American Organization. Iraqi Jews were airlifted by that Jews Operation and Jews from other Arab countries did not walk to Israel and I am 100 percent sure they were airlifted by other Jewish Organization..
