All of Gaza is filled only with terrorist targets ? Almost no civilians in Gaza ? Then definitely Gaza is a terrorist nation and should not be given any recognition of anything else except being a terrorist nation. the poor people of Gaza have had no civilization to speak of - only Hamas.

Think there'd be anything left of Gaza were Israel to fire 540 missiles into that cesspool? Probably not. So let's do it. I don't feel sorry for the civilians -- to the extent there are any -- in Gaza. I have difficulty separating those so-called "civilians" from the "civilians" who rejoiced and passed out sweets on September 11, 2001, or whenever any tragedy befalls Israel and the Jewish people. So, try as I might, I am absolutely unmoved by the plight of people in Gaza. They have sown the wind. Now, they have to reap the whirlwind. I save my full measure of compassion for the innocent Jews who cannot live normal lives and who have been the victims of repeated terrorist attacks. My sorrow is for the Fogel family and for the families of all the Jews who have been cruelly murdered by terrorists. There's nothing left for anyone else, least of all Gazans. Don't see them handing out too many sweets these days. That's cause to rejoice.

Maybe Hamas has seen the error of their ways and will now warn Israel of it's impending rocket attacks. It seems they are a humane people after all and I expect the next announcement from Hamas to apologize for all the damage they have caused Israelis both physical and mental. BTW they will also be putting a check in the mail for past due electricity bills they owe too.

Israel may intercept rockets fired from Gaza. Intercepting a missile or missiles, or knocking out a rocket launching site, are noteworthy achievements but, by no means are a victory. They do not prevent another attack, and, they are very expensive. It would be far better if Israel could take steps that would prevent any further attacks. But, the only means to achieve that goal that have been discussed have been airstrikes on each rocket-launcher location, or, carpet bombing Gaza, or, invading Gaza and destroying all missiles and missile-producing capabilities. The airstrikes on individual launch sites cannot prevent further attacks. The other options are not favored, because they would involve major casualties. However, there is yet another approach that might be successful, and that would not cause any civilian casualties. The approach is based upon recognition that the root cause of the attacks on Israel is religious. The cause is Islam. Islam calls for “death to infidels”, and, Jews are considered to be “infidels”. And, so are all non-Muslims; Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Taoists, Zoroastrians, and atheists. The Muslim World takes the doctrine of “death to infidels” very seriously. The Sunnis and the Shia each consider the other to be “infidels”, and they have been killing each other for centuries, for that reason. They still are, today, and they are killing non-Muslim “infidels”, as well. Inasmuch as the root cause of the violence is Islam, any response must be impressive to the Muslim religious leaders, in order to be effective. Retaliation by bombing, missile attacks, and even invasion, mean nothing to clerics who preach “death to infidels”, and glorify suicide bombers as martyrs. Muslim clerics have a plentiful supply of young Muslims who would like to achieve martyrdom. In order to be meaningful to the Mullahs, a response must have significance to their religion. Accordingly, Israel should surround the Al Aqsa Mosque with explosives, and declare that the next Muslim attack on Israel will bring destruction of the Mosque. That will get the attention of the Mullahs, and it will put the survival of the Mosque squarely in their hands. They can either issue Fatwas prohibiting any attacks on Israel and Israelis, and enforce them, or, they can see their Mosque destroyed. Israel would stress that Israel does not want to destroy the Mosque, it only wants to live in peace. And, if there are no further attacks on Israel, the Mosque will be untouched. However, if a Muslim does attack Israel, that Muslim will be responsible for the destruction of the Mosque. Since all of the major terrorist groups profess to be driven by Islamic doctrine, presumably they will not want to be responsible for the destruction of the Mosque. If the strategy is successful, the Mosque will not be destroyed, and Israel will have a respite from attacks. If the strategy is not successful, and the Mosque is destroyed, then Israel will be no worse off than it is now, surrounded by Muslim entities who want to destroy it, and who fire rockets into it. And, if the Mosque is destroyed, then Israel can clear the site, and commence reconstruction of the Jewish Temple. Note that, unlike any of the other strategies that have been contemplated, this strategy does not require killing anyone, Muslim or Jew. It does not necessitate military attacks. It simply demands the conditions that are required for any truce, which are, no attacks. There have been many truces, in the past, but they have been short-lived, because there was no significant consequence to their ending. This strategy is different, in that it has a consequence.

Who cares what Hamas says? Israel doesn't need human shields! Human shields are for Muslims whose deity can't defend himself from cartoonists.

How many rockets will it take to have Israel to properly respond? Maybe, and one hates to say so, but if TA was hit hard enough with a large loss of life, someone would boot this loser out of command and replace him with a proper PM, things would get done. Unfortunately, Israel is backing down and will back down under pressure from the UN & the US. This is totally pathetic and unfortunate. When the terrorist animals later say they have won, they will have indeed done just that!
