Do you think Israel wants to fighting in Gaza at all, after it withdrew in 2005 and gave Gaza to the Palestinians? Didn't you hear that Israel gives warnings, that Hamas deliberately draws fire in civilian areas? That about half the dead are combatants which is a much better ratio of civilians:combatants injured that the US or UK achieved in Iraq? Did Hamas need to fire thousands of rockets on Israel and cause Israel to blockade them to try and stop weapons importation? That's their Muslim attaempt at peace with tyhe jewish world. But that all means nothing. You see a Hamas media produced and manipulated tragic photo of a a dead child and that's the end of the story-Israel is guilty of deliberate mass murder. A rally would be to support Israel's right to self defence, not support civilian casualties-clearly even that is too much for you.

The Jews religion is liberalism. Give them a pro-Obama rally and they will show up by the thousands. Or a demonstration in favor of "gay rights", feminism, or some other such nonsense.

With the major media outlets determined to under-report any show of support for Israel, such rallies have little impact. The show of solidarity is comforting, but does it really affect public opinion? Even the annual Celebrate Israel Parade up 5th Ave. in NYC got scant coverage.

Such negative feedback from YNET for such positive actions! SHAME on YNET. Where were you when the rally organizers needed publicity to advertise the events? THAT'S the necessary commentary. The New Yorkers who learned about the event came forth with quite short notice and so much "RUACH" despite lack of involvement from the major Jewish organizations! That was the miracle of the NY event! SO YNET - please take the lead, advertise the next rally- perhaps even plan it - and assuredly MANY, MANY will come. You mention- where were the Israelis (and you call them, 'former Israel's' already a slur.) They are living in the US either permanently or temporarily, and those whom I know consider themselves Israelis.... But be that as it may. Separate from the "rally" options, the Jewish newspapers have published many articles about specific Israeli apathy toward community events! SO YNET: HERE is your challenge: GET ISRAELIS INVOLVED! The Jewish NY'ers are already QUITE involved!

There has been a limited but vocal daily gathering of Jews and pro-Israel supporters outside a Manchester city centre Israeli cosmetics shop. It was so vocal, the local police kept the Palestinian supporters away. The strength of support made BBC Radio 4 news on 10th August. So long as the racist, allegedly pro-Palestinian demonstrators stand outside the shop, the supporters of Israel will be there too.

To some, holding placards in New York is a great help in defeating enemies in Gaza (Not! - Who are you trying to impress? FYI our Governor Cuomo - is in Israel on solidarity right NOW!) To tens of thousands of others, who take their Judaism more seriously, the way to really help is through increased Achdut, Tefilla, Tehillim, Talmud Torah and good deeds!

American Jews did not turn out in support of the IDF because they were degusted with the savagery and brutality. They are Americans with an American sense of decency and justice.
