Send the flotilla (one vessel does not a flotilla make, by the way). Just know that Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip is internationally recognized and fully legal; the Palmer Report stated this unequivocally. Meaning, that any attempt to interfere with Israel's blockade will be deemed a hostile act by a hostile entity. The entity, in this case, will be Turkey. Turkey really does not want to challenge Israel militarily. News flash: NATO may come to Turkey's aid against ISIS, but they are not going to come to Turkey's aid against the State of Israel. Why is NATO fighting Turkey's battles, anyway? And whatever happened to Turkey's delicacy concerning engaging Moslems in battle? That was their reason for not participating in the NATO effort in Kosovo, in Afghanistan and in Iraq. That's a pretty fungible "delicacy." It has certainly never been in evidence against the Kurds. Nor against the Syrians. And Turkey wonders why it has no credibility, and is viewed as a laughingstock by all normal and civilized nations.
2. NATO's Burden
Kenneth Lieberman ,   USA   (08.11.14)
The onus falls on NATO to circumvent Turkey's reckless plan. President Obama must publicly warn Erdogan that Israel must defend her territorial waters against naked aggression. The USA and NATO must speak with one voice. War is not in Turkey's interests.
3. There is no blockade......but
koose e mack ,   US NY   (08.11.14)
if Turkey wants to lose more boats and people...Let them try to cross into Israeli waters! This time, no apologies!

Mark ,   London, UK   (08.11.14)
with respect to Turkey my thoughts always turn to a country which denies outright the Armenian, Assyrian and Pontic Greek genocides. Also to a country which invaded part of Cyprus, expelled all the Greek inhabitants, sold off the treasures to the international art market and has occupied illegally for 40 years. Any Turk who challenges this denial is likely to be jailed. This is not a country whose views on Palestine and Palestinians I can hold in much respect.

What   (08.11.14)
Are you too lazy to write your own articles you have to post propaganda? IHH a human rights group? These are terrorists and should be treated as such. The rest is not even worth commenting on. Shame on you this seems to become a norm here.
9. Hopefully pee-pee-erdogan will be joining...
Beary White ,   Norway   (08.11.14)
.... and get some days in Israeli jail...afterwards, just dump him at the gaza border in the south and let him walk his way back to Turkey..
10. And just think
Devorah   (08.11.14)
Europe offered to open a sea route between Cyprus and Gaza. Israel would need a Flotilla Ministry just to deal with the steady stream of crazed nitwits trying to break the blockade.
11. Let them be
arne ,   chicago usa   (08.11.14)
Ignore them, no publicity--no nothing. It's publicity they want. Also cut ties with Turkey--completely.keep the media out of gaza.

It can clearly be seen from your comment that the apology still hurts... I can fully understand that. Nobody would like to live as a chained dog. One more thing: You don't use an hammer to kill an insect. We have Hamas for that type of job. And remember, next time, the activist won't have mercy like last time, they will kill any intruding (and whining) "shayetets".
14. How many soldiers will they overwhelme now?
Albrecht ,   EU   (08.12.14)
and NOT kill them? Though they had all the time in the wolrld to do it? And how many Turks will execute the "brave" and armed(!) Israeli army this time?
15. Obama could stop this if he wanted to
CJK   (08.12.14)
whatever the case, the turks and other misfits will not be allowed to breach the blockade. this time israel will be prepared.

Actually, the Palmer Report -- which was commissioned by the United Nations at the behest of Turkey following the incident of the MAVI MARMARA -- ruled Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip fully legal and internationally recognized. Running the blockade (attempting to breach it) -- which is precisely what Turkey is now proposing -- is therefore a priori an illegal act. Israel has every right to protect the sanctity of its blockade; up to and including the use of deadly force. That is black letter international law. Your analogy to some sort of gang dispute is therefore inapposite. In point of fact, it's actually rather silly. If you do not know the rules which govern military engagement, you should refrain from addressing the subject. Any attempt to breach a fully legal and internationally recognized blockade is deemed a hostile act; do it with warships accompanying the blockade running vessel(s) -- as Turkey has threatened to do -- is an act of war. You're long on rhetoric; short on facts. You're going to have to do considerably better than that to be taken seriously on this forum.

Running a Boat with a few pallets of second hand clothes flags and toiletries through the legitimate and legal Blockade in a War Zone when HUNDREDS OF TONS A DAY of essentials are getting through legitimately via the Eretz Crossing Somebody chuck them a few of Carters Peanuts?
20. The Flotilla
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (08.12.14)
True-believing Christians worldwide, who have been properly catechized and schooled, will support this Freedom Flotilla for Gaza and will boycott "Israel".
21. DUMB ERDO COULD NOT DEFEAT ASSAD
IRANIAN JEW ,   LA USA   (08.12.14)
Now, he needs a new game to save his stupid face. His ISIS are killing the Kurds and everybody else, but this idiot can only care to hurt Israel. IDF will embarrass his ass again. I just hope they will do it in Gaza water so we don't have to hear anything from anyone else.
22. Maybe Israel should send flotillas of Gazans
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (08.12.14)
to Turkey....if they like terrorists so much. You would think Turkey would be sending ships to relocate them. All talk...but no immigration? Go figures.
23. No need to board, disable props/rudders, tugs haul to Ashdod
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (08.12.14)
I think Israel knows how to better handle this trash next time. Use nets to ensnare props, rudder, at 12-mile limit, use heavy tugs to drag/push diabled vessel to Ashdod. Any contraband found, whole ship and cargo are seized and destroyed, as international law allows. Any violence against IDF within 12-mile limit - an act of war, sink it without hesitation. Order Gaza boats to stay away or a cease fire violation, all Israeli concessions stop for good. Failure of Ankara to stop flotilla - press US Congress to cancel Turkeys F-35 buy, and they will do it, whether Obama likes it or not. Our Congress has little use or liking for the damn Turks, and neither does the US public. The lying, inept Obama double-crossed Israel on the last flotilla "apology" deal, he won't get another chance.

This time don't Board the ship. Just sink it.
25. Reaction

The IAF should give Kurdistan close air support against ISIS. If Erdogan tries to intercept the IAF to help his fellow islamists, Israel destroys his air force and navy.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (08.12.14)
No, it doesn't hurt. It was clear to everyone (except, apparently, you) that the apology was issued the same way one apologizes to a child having a temper tantrum, who refuses to stop kicking and screaming until mommy and daddy apologize for spanking him. Next time, sluggo, there won't be a boarding. Just two missiles amidships. If you're lucky, we'll pull your sorry asses out of the Med. If not -- swim for shore. See if you can outrun the sharks.
