1. Sounds Like Masoriti propaganda story
ReadersNotStupid ,   Jerusalem Israel   (08.17.14)
Suddenly this woman discovers the joys of the Masorati Movement really a few minutes before she was all "Orthodox" didn't take much to swing her believe me the rabbis know what they are doing and I am not observant but not stupid either. Lets hope she doesn't discover the joys of Russian Orthodox Christianity next !
2. thanks
naava ,   jerusalem   (08.17.14)
Thanks for sharing your experience. I actually thought it was impossible to do a conversion here in Israel under the Masorti movement. Good for you that you didn't buckle under to the Rabbinate. Mazal tov and baruch haba !!!!
3. We need more such rabbis to stop fake conversions.
AC   (08.17.14)
4. Nice try, but other religions derived
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (08.17.14)

5. All the girls died in Israel so these guy had to pick up
Al   (08.17.14)
this beauty. Really dude ..you must be blind as a bat. Walk down any Israeli street and you got the pick of the litter. The guy is dumb as a bag of hammers to pick up this mouthy thing...
6. Would make more sense for this non Jewish girl Natasha
AC   (08.17.14)
to marry that Arab Mahmoud Mansour than for Morel Malcha to marry him. Natasha wouldn't feel humiliated and neither would Morel.
7. Catholicism and protestantism...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (08.17.14)
changed the Tora laws to fit in the times. But they do not pretend to be Judaism.
8. I certainly not belong to the same family as you.
olim hadashim ,   tel aviv/israel   (08.17.14)
9. You can live here& have kids without the Black Hoodlums!
Savior ,   Sacred Land   (08.17.14)
10. Chabad would have handled this lovingly
Aliza ,   Israel   (08.17.14)
I am not a Chabadnik, but I know that Chabad helps people with conversion also, and it is orthodox. They are warm, supportive and loving, I find it sad that the Rabbunut chose to handle this way. do not be surprised if you or your children run into problems in the future with a conservative conversion. You may want to check out Chabad and see what they can do for you and your daughter. good luck
11. or you want to be jew or not
jew ,   europe   (08.17.14)
there is no middle way you want to be jew? you have to accept whole Torah, you dont like some comandaments from Torah? you cant be jew simply you are in or you ar eout no middle way, all middle way are not kosher and children wont be jewish
12. Better though difficult the right way to go (Orthodox) than
(08.17.14)
the wrong way though easy (Reform) where the end is woe.
13. Natasha...
manicdrummer ,   Haifa, Israel   (08.17.14)
...stop wasting your time with Orthodox Jews. They are idiots! You are Jewish and you are well on your way to becoming an Israeli citizen with or without their approval. There is growing resentment toward the Orthodox community even among Jewish Israelis who were born and raised Jewish and Israeli. You're not alone and you won't have to face them alone. Before long, the Orthodox will have no say in immigration and marriage law. Their views are based on old, ill-informed interpretation of Scripture. they won't be around much longer. Live, earn and enjoy your new faith!
14. to #5
iselin ,   oslo   (08.18.14)
So looks are everything to you. Talk about superficial. Are you such a great looker yourself? What is between the ears counts for so much more.
15. If you're not 100% sincere, stay where you are please.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.17.14)
If you want to convert to Judaism, you can only do so if you're 100% sincere in every aspect. We Jews are a proud nation and would not tolerate goyim in our midst. Sorry about that. If you don't like it and feel humiliated along the way, you don't belong among us. As simple as that.
16. Natasha Miliavskey should contact Tzohar
American Sabrah ,   Israel   (08.18.14)
Tzohar is a dati leumi organization who will gladly convert her. The haredi dominate rabbinical court is corrupt. The dati leumi communities are more open minded and accepting of others regardless of their religious affiliation or lack there of. We will gladly convert Ms. Miliavskey without forcing her to cut ties from her family so long that she shows a sincere interest in Judaism or at least observes the minimal requirements which is keeping Shabbat, Kashrut, and Taharat Mishpacha .
17. Poor Natasha, wake up!
Non Jewish immigrant ,   Haifa   (08.17.14)
Israel must accept you as you are. You don't have to change neither for Israel or for someone else. I also married an Israeli Jew but he always insisted I wouldn't convert because that would mean giving the religious power over our lives. Today I am an Israeli citizen with full rights and i am part of the nation with my differences. I still refuse to let the religion interfere and rule over my life. G. Moscatelli
18. Masori regime judaism
Friedmann ,   Lugano Switzerland   (08.17.14)
My dear friend.to become part of Klall Yisroel is a serious matter therefore in order to see if it is maybe just a momentary decision the Rabbis create some difficulties you failed therefore your decision was not enough strong.Remember become part of Klall Yisroel is for ever therefore the ground must be strong.Try again with the right people
19. Still not a Jew
Mordechai   (08.17.14)
A conversion through the Masorti movement isn't worth the paper it is printed you. Your problem was a very simple one. You didn't want to convert according to Jewish law. Which is fine no one says non Jews need to become Jewish. So you are as you were a non Jew. But non Jews like yourself don't get to redefine Judaism to change it to something you want it to be. We aren't abandoning the Torah to make non Jewish russians feel they can make this country non Jewish like they are. Reality is you should go home to russia where most people like yourself are non Jews. It is a country based on your values where you can feel a full part of it, rather than being a part of the non Jewish minority of the Jewish state.
20. Big Money Solves Everything
yaakov ,   TA   (08.18.14)
I know for a fact that a MAJOR "donation" takes care of all problems in conversion...enough said about the piety of the whole conversion process in this "Holy Land" Those who don't hold allegiance to the State of Israel control the status of its residents...its insane..
21. Offer to pay them instead
Danny   (08.17.14)
Rabbinot will do anything for cash
22. #4 & others: Ultra-Orthodox "Judaism" opposite to Sinai
Israeli-American Jew ,   Israel   (08.18.14)
routinely contradicting Tora as handed down by Moses at Mt. Sinai with European Dark Ages REFORMS
23. 12-These days Orthodox conversion no more secure than others
(08.18.14)
24. Ultra-Orthodox faith is in funny black costumes = idolatry
(08.18.14)
You in the Dark Ages mindset are NOT following or keeping Tora as Moses taught it any better than Christians or Muslims
25. SUPERB article!!
mea   (08.17.14)
As another convert, I thank you with my whole heart!
26. But you have not really converted
Sheba Leah ,   Ashdod Israel   (08.17.14)
You have been tricked! Your daughter cannot marry my children because she is not Jewish, and neither are you. The Conservative Movement do not act according to Halacha as you will find out later. Their Certificate is meaningless. Go the whole way and do it properly.,
27. #10 CHABAD CONVERSION IS NOT ACCEPTED BY MOST
...DACON9   (08.18.14)
28. 24 An expert in costumes is not..
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (08.18.14)
necessarily an expert in Judaism
29. Reform Rabbis
Cathrin Stern ,   Switzerland Zuerich   (08.20.14)
In the second WW may b many of you have forgotten, but judaism has never survived through our changes....it is the orthodox, the unchanged and pure Torah that has let this nation survive. And whatever grand Rabbis have done is surely according to Halacha, who am I to question the ways of the Torah?? ( And by the way, plenty of serious conversions do take place a year!!)
30. 28 And the Haredim are the experts in costume Jewry ROFL
