31. I knew a ger who studied to become a Masorti "rabbi"
Naomi ,   Jerusalem   (08.20.14)
I knew a female Masorti "convert" who studied for a year or two to become a "rabbi". I recall that she was very proud of her ability to chant form the Torah, something any Orthodox second grader can do. This lady did in fact discover the joys of (Greek) Orthodox Christianity a few years later.

34. Don't convert to Judaism. Convert to Islam.
Go Islam   (08.21.14)
they dont reject people as rabbanut does. They are clever and want to grow.
35. We need more Jews
Zechariah   (08.27.14)
We need more Jews the Haredim produce many but they don't fight and Israel is at war .Just as an Army needs many and evolving Strengths the Jews need more Divisions to absorb into a Humanitarian Core .An Evolving Traditional Humanitarian and Militarily Strong Jewish State will survive .
36. Mordechai - no. 19 - you are wrong
Arie Stein ,   Connecticut USA   (08.28.14)
Your think that orthodox conversion is real? Who says? Their rabbis? How stupid you are for falling for their nonesense. Us masorti Jews are just as jewish as you are - maybe more. I know plenty of so-called orthodox jews that lie, cheat, and steal. Why don't you go back to where you came from and explain to your mother why you are such a bigot.
37. Masorti Conversion
Arie Stein ,   Connecticut USA   (08.28.14)
What a wonderful outcome. To think that the orthodox rabbis have a monopoly on what is acceptable for conversion is rediculous. The rabbis over the centuries made all kinds of "adjustments" to ritual and observance. The orthodox rabbis in Israel think they have to observe as they did in the middle ages. Why stop there? Why not go back to first temple times? Religion must change with the times. Women must be encouraged to observe just like men. Men need to respect women in every manner. These rabbis still punctuate their morning prayers with blessing their god for not making them a women.
38. No. 19 - Cathrin Stern - you are wrong
Arie Stein ,   Connecticut USA   (08.28.14)
"Unchanged and pure Torah?" Wrong. The rabbis made many changes to what the torah prescribes. It is a long tradition. The problem is that the orthodox rabbis in Israel froze the discussion in the dark ages and refuse to accept that the world has changed and halacha needs to change with it. That is what God wants. Not what some men in beards and black hats say.
39. Conversions
Jonathan Aron ,   South Africa   (10.21.15)
Hi. How do I get hold of the Chief Rabbi to find it the conversion process. I adopted 2 children from birth and I want to have them converted.
