Ah, but you see, in America you have a president with a social conscience (not much else, but at least that). Here we have a prime minister who has just, for the sake of right wing votes, snatched the funds allocated for welfare programs and holocaust survivors and handed them to the settlers. He is without social conscience whatsoever, has never opened his mouth about the shocking poverty statistics. All he cares about is his behind on the throne. That's the difference. There you get food aid. Here we pick rotten food off the ground or starve.

Isn't it time for the gov. Elite to get off the pathetic as$es and start helping out the poor citizens of israel? It amazes me that the gov. Can afford to bomb palesine and do absolutely NOTHING to help feed its citizens who can't afford the absurd rent(s) and basic utility bills.

Anybody remembers Sharon's "I hayavani"? Time serving Olmert's "holyland"? What can we expect when prime ministers, supposed to care for the nation, use their position to criminally advance their own private interests? Can we expect they don't advance some of their social class' and club's friends interests? What our enemies can't do our governments are doing to destroy our country.

That gave me the biggest laugh in the world. A true welfare state is the UK, in Israel there are many charities that give food, I used to work for one, it amazed me that all the people accepting free food were religious and not working! If we stopped supporting the illegal settlements, there would be money for everyone. Let the religious men work for a living, do the army and contribute to the State - perhaps then, this would not be such an issue! But as for america being a welfare state - it is a country, where people are only one or two pay slips away from being homeless!
