3. why is this important?
miguel ,   israel   (12.29.14)
us population is about 300 million, south dakota about 800K...that's about .3% of the population of the United States that resides in South Dakota. You can probably substitute the word "jews" with koreans, japanese, russians, african american, latinos, etc and end up with the same storyline. why is this article relevant? Is it such a slow news day that this story is important?

Tova ,   Canada   (12.29.14)
Are Secular Jews are different than religious Jews. Are Catholics different than Evangelical Christians. They both have one thing in common It is the Relgion of their Faith. Judaism doesn't die. People move about. A person call themselves secular, reform, conservative, liberal or orthodox. It is still being a Jew.

According to Alexander Scholch, a German Jew and renowned historian specializing in M. East the population of Palestine in 1850 was about 350,000 inhabitants, 30% of whom lived in 13 towns; roughly 85% were Muslims, 11% were Christians and 4% Jews The 1922 census recorded the population of Palestine as 757,000, of which 78% were Muslims, 11% were Jews, 10% were Christians and 1% were Druze. The only Hebrew king recognized in reliable historical sources that build and left something as a proof of his reign was Herod the Great that happen to be an Arab by birth.

Herod the Great was Nabatean /Edomite by birth, not to be confused with Arabs. In fact, what would be the name of one Arab ruler anywhere Israel prior to the Roman conquest ? The Jerusalem census of 1864 has Jews as city's majority. They are certainly the majority there now :) As for historical record of Hebrew kings: "Assyrian annals mention contacts with some nine Hebrew kings: Omri, Ahab, Jehu, Menahem, Pekah, Uzziah, Ahaz, Hezekiah, and Manasseh." No, there are no pyramids to impress you, but the annals of Israel's enemies should do.

11. #6 You forgot to mention one thing, polak
A ,   Belgium   (12.30.14)
The majority of mandate "palestine", both in land mass and population, was on the eastern bank of the Jordan River. When Jews began returning to Israel and started renovating their home, the poverty stricken arabs came to find work. Actually, not much different than polak immigrants coming to America. Your "facts" are worthless.

you'll be yanking out your own teeth to stick under your pillow for some coins. So much for his "on the money with the data".
