people with a modicum of integrity admit that the selection of high court judges needs to be improved. the high court's jurisdiction also needs to be defined and circumscribed. the high court should not have the authority to decide matters that are purely political, especially on foreign affairs. unfortunately, the author is correct in his scepticism that shaked will be able to achieve her reform efforts. the left and the high court itself, which benefit from the continuation of the present system, will sabotage every effort at reform.

Palestinians cant make any real progress by tying up two distinct and vital issues into knots together Stahood Negotiations are SEPARATE from Economic development. We cant have a situation where Palestinian Society is frozen in a Time Zone while we search for solutions for Statehood Think about it A strong, confident, vibrant economy is good for Palestinians and good for Israel. It creates a much more positive setting in which to negotiate difficult issues And the PA have to realise that for us to realise our full potential WE NEED THE RIGHT CONDITIONS - law and order, calm and stability, infrastructure, tax incentives and grants, free trade access to Israeli markets, Zero Tolerance of bribery and backhanders and money laundering, and Zero Tolerance of such sickening institutional incitement that turns off potential investors BIG TIME
