You are both wrong. I lived and survived WWII in Hungary, thus, I am familiar with both events. I dislike immensely Soros for his support of J Street, but he did not participate in the round-up of the Jews of Budapest, which was done by the Hungarian Police and the Hungarian Nazi Arrow Cross, under the direction of Adolf Eichmann. Soros was 14 or 15 years old at that time and he was forced to work in the inventory of the properties of the Jews. Many other Jews including myself were forced to perform other tasks. Kastner helped to save for large amount of bribes paid to the Nazis about 1,600 Hungarian Jews. His action caused lots of issues pro and contra, and in early 1950 he was shot and killed by a stupid zealot in Tel Aviv.

Why is there no recognition for Carl Lutz?He was the Swiss official that took all the Jews under his diplomatic wings. Krauss without Lutz could not have done a thing.

You are right without Lutz, Moshe Kraus could not execute his action. Carl Lutz was the Vice Consul of the Swiss Legation in Budapest and he supported the savings of the Hungarian Jews. He set up several "Safe Houses" in Budapest as annexes of the Swiss Legation including the Glass House. Krause forged the documents and Lutz backed them up as official Swiss documents. Due to this action Lutz was credited to save 63,000 Hungarian Jews. Because of his actions, he was awarded the title Righteous Among the Nations by Yad Vashem. Several streets in Israel, in his home country and Hungary were named after him.
