1. Rabin's courage
m ,   m   (10.27.15)
Rabin's courage was to state loud and clear that that the settlements are the cancer for Israeli society. He was of course assassinated for his opinions - like Sadat was with his religious.
2. Courage? Oslo was the ultimate act of destructive cowardice
Chaim ,   Israel   (10.27.15)
It is tragic that Rabin was assassinated. We need a REAL investigation to clear up hundreds of inconsistencies with the "lone rightist" theory and find the truth. However, to cite Rabin as a symbol of courage is ludicrous. Oslo was the ultimate act of destructive cowardice. It is accurately described as "the worst self inflicted wound by any nation in human history". Israel could have had permanent peace decades ago, had we simply allowed the PLO to disintegrate in exile, and aggressively helped "Palestinians" to relocate.

Eventually a Progress To Internationalized Security Areas with Human Rights including the Right of The Tikun Olam.
5. Rabin's legacy is the 75 years as the ultimate Tzabar
Shachar ,   Eilat   (10.28.15)
agriculturtal college, Palmach, Harel brigade defence of Yerushalyim, MI chief who understood the Arabs better than anyone, Chief of Staff who won 6 day war using the plans he wrote as MI chief, father, grandfather...he did it all with an easy-going modesty . Oslo was someone else's plan that he signed on though he knew it would fail. He realised neither peoples were ready or even understood what making peace meant. Neither peoples were ready to compromise. But diplomatically it was a necessary step and laid the groundwork for a future agreement. Since then the ME has taken a turn for the worse and it is simply not possible to make peace agreements today due to a lack of stability....but one day this will change too...
6. #5. Why place your faith in peace agreements?
Chaim ,   Israel   (10.28.15)
#5 Shachar. Historically, peace agreements often precede wars. Israel's "peace agreements with Palestinians" have infallibly lead to wars. And they always will. So why on earth do you place your faith in such agreements? On the other hand, resounding military victory produces peace. Most long periods of peace were preceded by such resounding victories. The Second World War is a text book example. The bottom line is that peace agreements are mere scraps of paper to be shredded when convenient. This is particularly true in the Middle East with our foes' strong tradition of hudna; fake peace with the enemy till the time is right to attack them.
