On the very same path, 3 young Arab men tried to corner her by the stairway. It was only when she spoke English to them and they weren't sure if she was Israeli that they got second thoughts, giving her enough time to quickly walk away. Why doesn't this place have security cameras all over? Why don't the police have plain-clothes officers patrolling the place? Why not have armed retired police or army officers patrol the place? Why should Israelis have to risk their lives to enjoy a public park?? These thugs admitted to planning the attack. Premeditated attempted murder and aggravated assault on elderly people should be the charges. Lock them away until they're old men or deport them all to Gaza, where Hamas will receive them as heroes. (Which precisely defines the difference between Israelis and 'Palestinians.')

My daughter was approached by three Arab teenagers with their hands in their pockets. I'm sure many others were and will come forward. It's when people who felt threatened do nothing that the Arabs feel empowered. We should have zero tolerance for threatening behavior. The police had better wake up.
