"Let's make seder", walls are stationary but people are not. Even a child when confronted by a wall can think of the options available, go around to the left or right, go over in ten different ways, go under, breakthrough, weaken the structure, etc.

It's easier to go down another few meters, skirting the wall. What counts are the sensors, which can be inserted at greater depth at low cost. Sensors plus algorithms will identify the tunnel location, at which point one digs and destroys.
