Israel has plenty of experience of weak governance with ministers constantly contradicting each other and doing their own thing. UK governments had generally adhered to collective cabinet responsibility until Theresa May's weak and unstable premiership. This has nothing to do with Patel's political position on the Middle East - whatever it is - and much more to do with indiscipline and ego.
