A simple tunnel is a line with entrance and exit points. If one such was struck, how much was destroyed that can't be simply redug? Hamas' tunnel infrastructure is far more complex, a veritable underground series of "streets", storage and staging areas. If only a part of that infrastructure is damaged, one simply maneuvers around it.

The IDF's vague description either reflects a limited assessment of the damage inflicted or a choice not to admit how little serious damage was done. (So far there are no reports of casualties.) Certainly Hamas knows how much damage was done.

Geez ..... this is the same tunnel the IDF blew up several weeks ago. It's the one which goes beneath the Kerem Shalom crossing then angles into Egypt. The IDF seem afraid to retaliate anywhere in Gaza other than open fields or targets they have already eliminated. That is no deterrent. Israel is more afraid of world criticism than rockets fired from Gaza.

So up to date on tunnel destruction in the Gaza strip.Firstly the IDF do not have to explain how or where they get to the conclusion that the tunnel was destroyed there is already enough information or speculation from the media.
And the picture of children is of course taken on a bus- I know some air companies are cutting down on services but that would be pretty bad!

Why wait the launching of rockets to destroy the tunnel?

Israel's idf is such an advance fighting machine under Lieberman. Without a doubt this is probably his biggest achievement. I wonder if he is going to admit that it has been the feminist and lgbt agenda that allowed him such an accomplishment. Perhaps he will finally come out of the closet. Wow. 1 tunnel.
