Despite perhaps being promised "billions" instead of the more customary trinkets, the Palestinians will surely end up getting the shaft; but it's Abbas' own fault for apparently believing the U.S. could ever conceivably serve as an "honest broker" (or an "honest" anything). It's just not in our nature. Ask the Creeks, Cherokees, Seminoles, Apaches, etc. Saying we speak with "forked tongues" is a grotesque understatement.

As to the aforementioned "billions", I assume they are to primarily be provided by the Saudis, and I wouldn't necessarily count on anything being left over from MBS's profligate spending on French chateaus, über yachts and fake art (not to mention his 'fun and games' in Yemen, Syria and elsewhere). I would also assume that a Saudi war on Iran will take priority over any "billions" actually being transferred to the Palestinians.

As to whatever non-contiguous Bantustans Israel allows the Palestinians to retain in Areas A and B (a mere 40% of the West Bank), they will only have limited sovereignty, so they will have to rely on Israel to prevent new settlements from being established by Hilltop Youth and the like, and in the past Israel's effectiveness in this regard has been abysmal.
