Naturally I do believe we need to have conversion standards. But at this time the reality is that our current ultra-orthodox conversion standards are not meaningful for millions of people in Israel and abroad.
A pity, a real pity that instead of being inclusive we have decided to become highly exclusive.

Though I have nothing against Muslims, your comment is unfair and uninformed. Most conservative conversions are halachic. That's part of the reason why the controversy exists. The final authority on who is Jewish is Jewish law.
