This week a terrorist was convicted in France of trying to blow up the Notre dame cathedral.

Why is there no info on the culprit?

One of the rare moments I truly feel real pity & sympatico with the French.

"Oremus et pro perfidis Judæis..." = "let us pray for the treacherous Jews..."
During the Middle Ages the Cardinal of Paris would order the Jews to gather in the plaza at the back of Notre-Dame de Paris...once the Jews were there the Cardinal would recite this horrifically inflammatory prayer against us and then deliver a sermon about how we Jews needed to convert to Catholicism so that we would be saved.
You ask me - it's Holy Week, G-d is bored, so he decided to finally punish the French for their ancestors sins against the Jews...and so a fire started in the back half of Notre-Dame de Paris just meters from the plaza they used to shame and punish us.

and what song shall we sing "Topsy Turvy" or "The Bells of Notre-Dame"?

Today, the most venerable Temple of Christianity, even more than that of St. Peter's in Rome, has been very badly damaged.

Today, in the City of Lights, its oldest and most valuable luminary has burned majestically. Compared to the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, the modern Tour First and Montparnasse Tour, even the Eiffel Tower, all them as expensive as if they were of solid gold, are nothing more than meaningless heaps of technological waste fatally condemned to end in a trash dump. The Cathedral was a very different kind of thing.

I have no doubt that, regardless of the price, the French will rebuild their Cathedral, but no matter how well they do it, it will never be the same again. The fire has also burned all the spirits that for eight centuries inhabited the shadows of the Cathedral, and all have left with the smoke never to return. There are no better exorcists than modern architects.

Three millennia ago, in Ur de Caldea, another City of Light, the most sacred of ancient times, the enormous, sacrosanct, two-thousand-year-old silver idol of the Moon god, was evicted from his upper cell and, as fast as a shooting star, rolled down hundreds of steps until finally it bit the dust of the earth, after which it was melted to be transformed into tiny silver coins. Having done this, and to celebrate the incredible victory over the arch-hated Sumerian Lords, all the terraces of the ziggurat illuminated the world for many days and many nights with dozens of thousands of bonfires that burned continuously, until all the available wood in the region was exhausted.

Undoubtedly, they are not comparable facts, but neither are they too different, because both are Signs of the Times by divine right.

Blessed are You, LORD our G-d, King of the universe, through Whose word everything comes into being!

a real disaster. how could god allow this to happen?

FRANCE? Maybe there is more to this than just a simple fire.

for hundreds of years this beautiful lady has shown her glory.

the many evil acts committed in her name were not the acts
of g-d but of man.

On June 17, 1244 CE, twenty-four carriage loads containing twelve-thousand volumes of the Talmud and other Jewish religious manuscripts, were set on fire before the main entrance of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, just finished, after being judged blasphemous in the infamous Trial of the Talmud, which took place in 1240 CE in the court of King Louis IX of France.

After that, the king ordered that any laymen should plunge a sword into the chest of those who would speak ill of the Christ. Furthermore, he expelled the Jews from France and their property and synagogues were confiscated.

Yesterday was the cathedral's turn.

The building will be rebuilt and in a few years it will recover its former splendor. However, the lives of many Jews and all those invaluable manuscripts were lost forever, moreover nobody wants to remember such a great injustice.

It will not be me who feels sorry for what has happened.

all those who blame the "french" for the burning of Notre Dame,including this deranged rabbi who maintained its god punishment : You are sick, you are not different from any "anti-semite",a flip side verison. you are "hate speech" spreaders and deserve to be proscecuted. have those kind of people among us . We in Israel feel deeply for the loss of your "heart". You will rebuild it ,more beautiful.

outside israel is for time being not "our" agenda,but in israel is different....
This man,referring to various halachic sayings, is quite simply sick.
This is not "GODS" punishment.This is a "man made" disaster ,as was the
"holocaust" and many other inhuman tragedies.
If a prominent Rabbi says thinks like this he needs to be proscecuted for
"hate speech" and incetement. There is no place in Israel for sick persons,whatever their position might be. Bibi ,your first job is to curb
those crazy,sick speeches by influental public figures who draw their salary form publics money. Lock HIM up.
