GAZA - Palestinian sources reported Wednesday that the Israel Air Force fired an air-to-surface missile at a Qassam rocket launcher in the northern Gaza Strip. According to the witnesses, no one was hurt, but the launcher was destroyed. The IDF acknowledged the report. This is the second air strike in Gaza in the last few days following an escalation in Palestinian attacks. Two days ago, the IAF tried to kill an Islamic Jihad terrorist in his Beit Lahiya home, in northern Gaza. Eyewitnesses said that two missiles were fired by aircraft. No one was hurt. Despite the fact the Palestinian suspect was not hit, the strike indicated a change of policy by the military, which had not conducted a targeted killing in more than a year and a half. The IDF almost completely abandoned its air strikes in Gaza and only recently started to attack Palestinian Qassam rocket and mortar crews.
