Eyewitnesses said armed Palestinians are helping the mass crossing by breaking through the border fence with targeted explosions.

Tuesday, Palestinian and Egyptian officials met to sum up the first day of post-IDF Gaza, a day in which thousands of Palestinians crossed the border and an Egyptian soldier killed a Palestinian civilian.
They also decided to close, starting Thursday, the border and to prevent civilian crossings.
Empty warning
The interior ministry even warned potential border violators would be arrested, but Palestinians continue to mass across the border in full view of helpless security forces on both sides.
The latest events took place as the Palestinian Legislative Council met to discuss anarchy in the Palestinian Authority.
Several parliamentarians said that recent reforms to the security forces have proved useless, and anarchy continues in Gaza unbridled.
During the debate, PA Interior Minister Nasser Yousef was sharply criticized for allowing the authority of Authority security forces to wither away.
