Following the warm-up in relations between Israel and Pakistan, two other Muslim countries which do not have diplomatic relations with Israel have made attempts to establish contacts with Israeli officials.
Israel's leading newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth has learned that the Afghan ambassador in one of the Mediterranean basin countries had recently invited the Israeli ambassador and the Israeli Embassy staff to celebrate Afghanistan's Independence Day at his residence.
In addition, the staffs of Afghanistan embassies in the same country and in two other countries have been holding close talks with the Israeli ambassadors and have invited them to several events at their homes.
In the meantime, a warm-up was has also been noted in Bangladesh's relations with Israel.
Bangladesh's ambassador in a Mediterranean basin country recently approached the Israeli ambassador with an offer to establish regular relations. The Israeli ambassador happily accepted the proposal and the two agreed to keep an open discussion channel.
