Child brings drawing for Sharon

Four-year-old Oren from Herzliya drew a painting for his prime minister, and got his parents to travel to Jerusalem and deliver it personally

Young visitor: Amid the sea of reporters, concerned visitors and associates of the prime minister who have been crowding outside the Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital in the last three days, one unusual figure stood out on Saturday.

Four-year-old Oren Goren from Herzliya came to the Jerusalem hospital with one purpose in mind – to bring Ariel Sharon a drawing he painted especially for him.

"This is for Arik Sharon," Oren said while holding the drawing up. "May he be healthy, eat, get back to work and drink."

Oren, who drew the picture on Friday, managed to convince his parents to take him to the hospital and deliver it to the ailing PM.

"Yesterday at noon I was sitting in the living room, when Oren came and showed me the drawing," Oren's father, Roee, told Ynet.

"He said, 'look dad, here is a painting for Arik Sharon,' I was very moved. Oren has shown much concern for Sharon. He watches the news all the time and said he wanted to take this drawing to Arik Sharon. This is why we have decided to come here," Roee explained.

'We will stand by him'

Oren himself explained that the he painted "a colorful brain," and said that he used cheerful colors in order to make the brain look pretty. He also asked his parents to write a dedication on the drawing, "for Arik Sharon, may you be healthy and return to your work as prime minister. All the best, Oren."

Once at the hospital, Oren and his parents were able to give the drawing to one of the PM's advisors, who was given specific instructions from Oren to hand it personally to the prime minister.

In addition to Oren, many other concerned citizens took advantage of the weekend to come to the hospital and pay their respect and appreciation to Sharon.

"Although he is not a family member, Sharon is our leader, and we will stand by him during good and bad times," Giora Dalit of Tel Aviv, another visitor to Hadassah, explained.
