Tides of Change conference and exhibition, scheduled for May 9-11 at AGRITCECH 2006 in Tel Aviv, set to focus on Israel’s multidimensional approach to developing advanced water solutions through international strategic alliances

The International Water Technologies Conference and Exhibition - The Tides of Change, scheduled to take place May 9-11 in Tel Aviv as part of the AGRITECH 2006 events, is set to focus on Israel's multidimensional approach to developing advanced water solutions through international strategic alliances.

The conference will be held under the auspices of “Agamim 10” – Israel’s national program for promoting the country’s water industry and turning Israel into a main player in the global water challenge, organizers said.

The exhibition – Waterfronts Israel: An Ocean of Innovation – is scheduled to last 3 days. In addition to displaying the latest advances in water technology and explaining their economic and ecological impacts, this event will serve as the launching pad for an annual exhibition, with the next fair scheduled for May 2007.

Keynote Speaker Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will be on hand to talk about the governmental support to the Israeli Water industry. Vice Premier Shimon Peres is also expected to attend.

'Israel has many years of experience'

According to Trigger-Foresight Ltd’s "Agamim 10" research, the increasing global shortage in the quantity and quality of portable water has led to the development of technological and regulatory solutions, such as water quality standardization, processes of privatizing infrastructure systems, generating new water sources, water quality treatment solutions; all these factors create business opportunities for the companies operating in this industry, the study indicated.

"I believe that Israel's ability to establish a significant competitive position in the industry is very high,” Ori Yogev, chairman of Waterfronts – Israel Water Alliance, said.

“Israel has many years of experience in the market. Due to the special water problems that Israel confronted through the years the Israeli industries and businesses have established there status as world experts in water solution and have proven their competitive advantages."
