During Israel's first years, when highways and toll roads were not part of the country's features, Zvi Nahor, a bus driver from Kibbutz Gat, used to drive across the country in his ancient bus.
Besides bringing travelers to their destination, Nahor found time for his old-time hobby from his birth city of Vienna. Using his camera, which he took along to all his trips, he perpetuated all the people and sights he encountered.
His huge photograph collection invites the viewer to travel through Israel's first years. The pictures speak for themselves, but if you recognize any of the people or sites involved, please let us know. Bon Voyage!
