Jordan says it's concerned about Temple Mount works

Jordan on Monday expressed concerned over an archaeological dig around Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque, a government spokesman said.

Jordanian government spokesman Nasser Judeh told the official Petra news agency that Prime Minister Marouf al-Bakhit told officials and experts that ''the continuous digging in that holy area is a big concern to Jordan, its king, people and government.''

Jordan's Lower House of Parliament also condemned the digging, alleging that ''Israel aims at changing Jerusalem status and erase its Arab and Islamic features.'' (AP)
