Earthquake rocks Mexico City, knocking out power in parts of the city

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6 rocked Mexico City early Friday, the US Geological Survey said, knocking out power in parts of the city.

 

The quake hit shortly before 1 am local time, sending people out into the streets. It lasted less than a minute but was strongly felt by residents. Police patrolled streets while families waited out on the streets in their pajamas, fearing aftershocks. (AP)
