Car bomb at barracks in Algeria kills at least 28

A booby-trapped car exploded at a barracks housing coast guard officials in Algeria on Saturday, killing at least 28 people and injuring many others, hospital authorities said.

The explosion - the North African nation's second terror attack in less than 48 hours - ripped through the northern coastal town of Dellys, about 50 kilometers (30 miles) from Algiers, shattering many of the town's windows. The death toll rose throughout the day to 28, hospital officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to media. (AP)
