Lebanon's army detains terrorist network planning attack on UN peacekeepers

Lebanese military intelligence has detained a ''terrorist network'' for allegedly plotting attacks against the UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon, officials said Monday.

The army's statement did not say how many people were detained but added that they included foreigners. ''The military intelligence department was able to detain a terrorist network that was working on monitoring the movements of UNIFIL forces in southern Lebanon,'' the statement said referring to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon.
