Defense Minister Ehud Barak met on Monday with Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad and the two discussed the transfer of security responsibility of Palestinian cities within the West Bank.
"If the trial model we tried of sending Palestinian security forces into Nablus succeeds and security cooperation continues to work well, we may consider copying that method to another West Bank city," said Barak. The defense minister added that the IDF would continue to be responsible for security in the city for the time being. (Roni Sofer)
