Purim is upon us: Although the holiday only takes place next weekend, preparations for Purim are already in full swing, and particularly the hunt for an original costume.
This year's hit in the costume department, according to sources in the industry, is set to be costumes mimicking those worn on the popular TV show Survivor (the Israeli version), including tiny bikinis and survivor buffs – bandanas carrying the series' logo.
The price tag for the outfit will stand at NIS 129 ($36).

Other trendy costumes this Purim, according to Toys 'R' Us, are expected to be those of local music festival stars, professional wrestler Ray Mysterio, princesses and Walt Disney cartoon characters, Pirates of the Caribbean's Jack Sparrow and Spiderman.
According to another toy store chain, Kfar Hasha'ashu'im, the most wanted costumes this Purim are those of action superheroes like Zorro and Superman, and of ninja fighters – who seem to be making a surprising comeback this year.
Among young girls, princesses and fairies are still the most popular, while toddlers (or rather, their parents) prefer Bob the Builder, Fireman Sam and Dora.
Sources at the chain said they were especially surprised by the number of adults buying costumes for themselves this Purim, with the hits being a flamenco dancer, a fairy, a Roman Caesar, a hippy, a pirate and a sexy pussycat.
