IDF forces patrolling the Trans-Samaria Highway near the West Bank city of Qalqilya on Sunday seized a truck containing 11 gallons of sulfuric acid and about eight gallons of nitric acid, materials that are considered hazardous and are used to manufacture explosives.
Israel has banned the entry of these materials into the West Bank, and as part of this effort the Civil Administration handed out pamphlets to soldiers stationed in the territories with explanations on the dangerous materials.
During a special security assessment meeting held in the wake of Thursday's deadly attack in Jerusalem, Police commissioner Dudi Cohen said forces would remain on high alert-3, one level below the highest alert level.
The alert level was heightened an hour after eight people were killed at Jerusalem's Mercaz Harav rabbinical seminary for fear of additional attacks. A special emphasis was placed on boosting security in the population centers of Israel's major cities.
