Pakistan kills up to 100 militants near Afghan border

Pakistani security forces killed up to 100 al Qaeda-linked militants in fierce clashes in a volatile tribal region near the Afghan border on Thursday, a security official said.

"Eighty to 100 militants were killed in Bajaur today. Most of them are foreigners," The official said on condition of anonymity, referring to the tribal region. (Reuters)
