Hamas says UN Security Council 'ridiculous'
Hamas Spokesman Fawzi Barhoum called the UN Security Council's conduct "ridiculous", saying that "what happened tonight at the Security Council is a farce that demonstrates the United States and the Zionist occupiers' power in making decisions."
The Security Council failed to reach a draft resolution on the fighting in the Gaza Strip, after the US rejected a proposal by Libya for an immediate ceasefire. The Council members agreed to discuss the matter further on Tuesday in the presence of eight Arab foreign ministers and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. (AFP)
