Prime Minister Ehud Olmert met Tuesday with brigade commanders who led the military operation in Gaza and commended their performance.
During the meeting, which summed up Operation Cast Lead, Olmert told GOC Southern Command Yoav Galant that his performance was "a masterpiece".

The prime minister asked to hear details regarding Hamas and its methods of warfare against IDF soldiers. He was especially interested in Hamas' techniques and weaponry.
The brigade commanders presented their mission to the prime minister and detailed their soldiers' progress on a map of Gaza. They also supplied dramatic accounts of heroic acts by troops on the battlefield.
Olmert praised the commanders and highlighted the high moral standards adopted by the army during the operation. Also present at the meeting were Defense Minister Ehud Barak, IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi, and Gaza Division Commander Eyal Eisenberg.
