Palestinians fired a projectile towards the Karni crossing area on Tuesday evening. The IDF identified a launch from Gazan territory, but has yet to canvass the region due to the late hour and cannot yet say whether it was a Qassam rocket or mortar shell. Sappers are expected to head out in the morning to search.
No injuries or damage have been reported.

One Qassam lands in kibbutz in Sdot Negev Regional Council, another hits an open area in Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council. No injuries reported, but environmental damage caused. In response, Air Force jets attack weapons smuggling tunnels on Philadelphi route
The Shaar HaNegev Regional Council, the target of the projectile in question, has been closely monitoring cabinet debates on a materializing ceasefire in Gaza. Council Chairman Alon Shuster said the government would have some tough decisions to make.
"In recent years there have been periods of calm that have lasted for months on end, but our assumption is that as long as Hamas controls Gaza there will be no peace here," he said.
Shuster also worries that the recent elections will have a detrimental effect on governmental plans for the development of Sderot and the Gaza vicinity communities, causing them to be delayed yet again.
On Monday morning two rockets were fired towards Israel. One landed in a kibbutz in Sdot Negev Regional Council and another landed in open spaces in Shaar HaNegev Regional Council. No injuries were caused, but an area in the kibbutz was damaged.
The residents of the targeted kibbutz were awakened by the Color Red alert and the sound of a loud explosion. The kibbutz secretary told Ynet that the rocket fell in a cactus garden and caused light damage, but "only a miracle prevented injuries".
