Palestinian bakers have made an extra-large version of a local pastry, hoping to set a record and boost the reputation of this West Bank economic hub.
Their kunafa - a mix of vermicelli, syrup and cheese - weighs 1,765 kilos (3,891 lbs) and is 74 meters (243 feet) long. The sweets were laid out on a tray stretching across Nablus' main square and were quickly devoured by tens of thousands of visitors. (AP)
