One of the eight suspects in the brutal murder of 59-year-old Leonard (Arik) Karp, which took place Friday night at the Tel Baruch beach, was brought to the scene of the crime Monday for a reenactment.
The reenactment was the first time any of the suspects offered their version of the event to the police. The number of suspects in the case make its difficult to determine whether the reenactment was genuine, or an interrogation ploy by the Yarkon Subdistrict Police, meant to pressure the other seven suspects.
Karp was assaulted Friday night along with his wife and daughter at the Tel Baruch beach. Shortly after the incident was reported the police arrested 10 suspected in the act – eight young man and two young women.
The Tel Aviv Magistrates' Court remanded all eight suspects to police custody, while remanding the two teenage girls – a 19-year-old soldier and a 17-year-old girl – to house arrest.
Leonard Karp was laid to rest on Sunday at the Segula Cemetery in Petah Tikva.
