Ashkenazi says opposes probe on Goldstone Report claims
IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Gabi Ashkenazi ruled out the possibility of launching an independent inquiry into the Goldstone Report findings. "Israel should provide a professional response to the claims which appear in the report and not be apologetic. We are allowed to protect the soldiers we sent out," Ashkenazi said during a meeting of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.
Committee chairman Knesset Member Tzachi Hangebi said the committee members are all united in their objection to an independent inquiry. (Attila Somfalvi)
