Cleared for publication: IDF forces thwart attempted attack on home front

IDF forces thwarted Wednesday night an attempted terrorist attack when it detected a suspicious man with a handbag who tried to infiltrate Israel at the border with Egypt. However, during arrest procedures the man managed to escape.
While scanning the area early Thursday morning, IDF forces detected a powerful explosive device, which according to estimates, was meant to be used in an attack on the home front. (Hanan Greenberg)
