Barkat: Losing Jewish majority in J'lem is strategic threat
Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat addressed the cabinet during a discussion in the Jerusalem lobby in the Knesset: "You want negotiations with the Palestinians? (Do it) alongside strengthening Jerusalem. It is important that we transmit this message that it is non-negotiable."
Barkat said that losing a Jewish majority in Jerusalem is a strategic threat. "In the past, there were 70% Jews and 30% Arabs. Today the ratio is 65-35." (Ronen Medzini)
