UN chief meets Netanyahu in Jerusalem

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem on Sunday. Netanyahu thanked the UN chief for his efforts in trying to return captive soldier Gilad Shalit home and his treatment of the Iranian nuclear issue.

Ban said that the Quartet endorses the proximity talks between Israel and the Palestinians and noted that it believes they will lead to direct talks between the two sides which will address all security, border and refugee issues. (Roni Sofer)
