Only women take part in the races. Most of the participants come from Jenin, Bethlehem, Ramallah and Jerusalem. The British Consulate has even supplied the specialized clothing required for the sport.

The British Consul in Ramallah explained that the purpose was to encourage women's sports in general and women in motorsports in particular.

The Consulate will soon prepare a course for the women, who will be trained by British racing champions, she said. So far, four women are participating, but more are expected to join.
