A school district in Southern California is considering how to punish students who participated in a "Beat the Jew" game on campus.
The Desert Sands Unified School District says about 40 students joined a Facebook page promoting the game, in which some students playing the role of Nazis chase others playing as blindfolded Jews.
Sherry Johnstone, assistant superintendent of personnel, said Friday the district began investigating last week after students at La Quinta High School reported the game to administrators.
Johnstone says seven students who played the game in the campus parking lot could be suspended or barred from graduation.
Johnstone says the matter has also been referred to La Quinta police. A call to the Police Department was not immediately returned.
