Palestinians report fisherman killed by Israel Navy fire

Medical officials in the Gaza Strip reported that 20-year-old fisherman, Mohammad Bakhar, was shot dead Friday morning by Israel Navy boats off the shores of the northern Strip. According to the report, the young man was evacuated to the hospital with gunshots wounds to the chest.


The IDF reported, "In the morning hours, Israel Navy opened deterrent fire at a fishing boat that deviated from the designated area in which sailing is permitted. We are unaware of claims that one of the civilians was hit are looking into the matter." (Ali Waked and Hanan Greenberg)
