Air Force crafts bombed targets in the northern Gaza Strip Wednesday night in response to the Qassam fire on the Negev earlier that day, the IDF said. Palestinian sources reported four injured.
The army said two terror targets were bombed, and hits identified with the help of the Shin Bet. Reuters said one target was a Hamas training camp, citing a source from the organization.
Palestinian sources reported two strikes in Gaza City which injured two, and a third strike in the central Gaza Strip, in which two others were injured.
The IDF said the bombing was carried out in response to rocket fire Wednesday. Two Qassams were fired, one of which landed near the border fence and the other in an open field. The rocket alert did not go off.
Data shows that the number of instances of rocket fire increased in September, with 16 rockets and 23 mortars shells launched at Israel on 30 separate occasions.
